On 8th June 2015 team of 10 researchers from National NGO went to Bhumiheen Camp, Tughlakabad . They went there for the purpose of collecting census of differently abled children through the Questionnaire. This research is conducted with the purpose to socially empower the differently abled children in the society. This research is under Project Empower of National Organisation for Social Empowerment where the NGO is adopting these slums. The way was not easy. The camp was very congested, pathetic drainage system, contracted and narrow streets. It was a very difficault task for our researchers to carry out the research. But their determination and hardwork made it possible. Our researchers talked to the local individuals, ladies from “Anganwadi”. There was a lady named Premwati from Anganwadi who helped our team in finding impaired children. People were cooperative, responding positive towards our team.
Today our team completed their pilot study and checkout the atmosphere of the particular area. After the great efforts of our team they found three differently abled people of age 3 to 20 year with lack of accessibility and lack of resources .The very big task for our researchers is to convince them and bring them to the National Rehab Centre with a new ray of hope.
